Wilton High School Class of 2011 Graduates [Video]
The 306 members of the class received their diplomas Saturday night.
The threat of rain moved the 2011 commencement exercises into the field house, but nothing could dampen the spirit at the event. The ceremony was short and sweet for the 306 graduates, with Frank Gawle, the school's musical conductor, as their graduation speaker. A clearly emotional Gawle said the class of 2011 will forever leave a mark on the school, and they will missed next school year.
This was the final commencement for Principal Timothy Canty, who is leaving after 13 years at the high school. The students expressed their gratitude for his assistance throughout the years with a standing ovation at the end of class president Michael DeSantis' speech.
Other student speakers were valedictorian James Austin Schaefer and student body president Jacqueline Saltarelli.
