Wilton School Superintendent Gary Richards to Retire

Wilton's school superintendent Gary Richards will retire at the end of the calendar year, the district announced Thursday.

Wilton School Superintendent Dr. Gary Richards, who has held the post since 2004, announced Thursday that he plans to retire at the end of the calendar year.

Richards has been an educator for more than 40 years, more than half as a superintendent.

“Wilton has meant a great deal to me and my family and I have enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to work with such fine people all of these years,” said Dr. Richards in a statement. “There is never a perfect time to announce a transition such as this but I am confident now is a good time for me to make this change given the leadership and direction in place within the District.”
