Whitney J. McBride of Wilton Enters St Michael's College Athletic Hall of Fame

Whitney J. McBride '84 entered the Saint Michael's College Athletic Hall of Fame on Sept. 20 during the 26th annual induction banquet.

The Wilton native currently lives in Thornwood, N.Y.

A cross country standout, McBride still holds the school record for the fastest time at the 9K distance, as well as the mark for single-season race victories (5), set in 1983. McBride's eight career wins were a program record upon his graduation, and have since been matched by two harriers. As a senior in 1983, he captained the team to an 11-0 mark in dual- and tri-meet competition, the only time the squad has ever posted a perfect record.

Since graduation, McBride has become a successful pediatric surgeon outside New York City.
