Join us for an Open House and learn about life in Colonial America through demonstrations and hands-on activities. Be the first to see our new miniature replica of the Abbott Barn which can be taken apart and put back together to reenact a barn raising. While you are here you can try candle-dipping, weaving and flax breaking, watching a demonstration in our Blacksmith shop, performing a drill with our militia men, popcorn popping, corn churning, ice shaving to make sno-cones, 18th and 19th century cake slices made by the High School Historical Society Advisors group, a scavenger hunt in the Abbott Barn, and more!
This event is free for all. Non-members can make an optional $10 donation. Family Day is an extension of our popular Fourth Grade program which took place from May 14-17th at the Wilton Historical Society. During these four days students from Cider Mill school in Wilton participated in activities educating them about life in Colonial America. For more information visit www.wiltonhistorial.org.
