COMPENDIUM OF THOMAS PAINE'S FIREARMS-RELATED PATCH POSTS

CHARLIE - HERE IS THE LIST OF POSTS YOU REQUESTED. GETTING THIS POST ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE PATCH MIGHT BE MORE OF A CHALLENGE

In a comment to a letter to Fairfield Patch, commenter Charlie asked:

"T Paine: Please do us the continuing favor of informing the public by aggregating ALL of your posts into one post and see if it can get put onto ALL of the patch pages, like the anti-gun opinions and letters seem to do. I'd go straight to the editors. It would be a fascinating experiment to see if they agree in "equal" coverage of the issue."

Well Charlie, I do not know what is involved in getting onto the front page nor onto all of the local Patches. I would suppose a “letter” might work or becoming a full-time contributor perhapds. However, any of those routes would likely require my providing my full and real name and that is something I cannot do at this time. As I have noted before, my kids have teachers who do not agree with the views I present here and I cannot jeopardize their academic success due to the small-minded who will take out on my kids their ire at the views of the parent.

So for Charlie and other readers, the following is a list of all the posts related to firearms and gun control that I have posted on the Patch over the past few weeks. I present them in more or less ascending chronological order.

You seem to have an obsession with the weapons of mass destruction thats only purpose are to kill and destroy.
Alethiologist March 22, 2013 at 10:30 am
TNT
Not sure what you are talking about...TP is neither chemist nor taxman so he has nothing to do with WMDs. He is just a student of issues relating to guns and the second amendment.
Thomas Paine March 22, 2013 at 11:27 am
Ignore this person, he/she is a troll who wondered here from the Daily Coice site where there are no editors nor other adult supervision. He/she is dillusional and beliefs anyone defending 2A rights is a paid shill for the NRA. To this drone-like person, there is no clue that we may all, be doing this because we care about our rights. There may be one or two more that come this way, just ignore them all and do not engage, it is a threat to your sanity.
Murray The Cop March 22, 2013 at 12:14 pm
TP glad to see you are using my drone comment that I hit you with awhile back. Makes me secure in the knowledge that I struck a cord. But rest assured you are the original inane drone.
Sarah Palin March 22, 2013 at 01:37 pm
why are all these personal insults allowed to remain? I thought that the Patch had some standards regarding this.
Ed March 22, 2013 at 01:45 pm
Thomas, although we have differing views on certain aspects of gun control, I do respect the level of effort and thought you have put into your posts on the subject.
White Fang March 22, 2013 at 03:14 pm
Does anyone else get the impression that TP lives with his mom and sits in her basement all day in his bathrobe writing this silly blogs..all the while telling himself how intelligent his is while the rest of the world rolls their eyes at him when his back is turned.
Ed March 22, 2013 at 07:10 pm
Sarah, It's an unfortunate reality that is being exhibited by those on both sides when it comes to gun control.

Does anyone get the impression that WF lives with his mom and sits in her basement all day in her bathrobe writing his silly one-time comments..all the while telling itself how intelligent it is while the rest of the really real world rolls their eyes at it when its back is turned.

White Fang, another newly registered troll who has strolled over here from Daily Voice to show us how infantile some on the Left can be. These folks should not only offend those of us on the gun rights side but also you thoughtful folks on the gun control side. They add nothing useful to the discussion but infantile primal murmurs. Ignoring them it the best treatment.
Donald Borsch Jr. March 22, 2013 at 08:17 pm
Thomas,
You didn't even need to respond. I can take care of the trash 'round here. By the way, how is your mother's basement, er, I mean, Hawaii?

Mad Mothers is a great moniker. Illegals from Mexico have a much much higher incidence of drivingRead More drunk than any other group. Drunk driving is a way of life in Mexico and they bring that here with the deaths and injury that follows. Truly Mad Mothers.

Very sad indeed. MADD has done great work. It is a real shame that they would let politics trumpRead More protection of our children from drunk drivers

Milton, it is the same with the environmental groups. they want to protect the snail darter but doRead More not want to get involved with the illegal immigration issue. Why should they you may ask? google images of "border trash" and see why these groups should be concerned.

The concluding paragraph from the item above: "Hopefully her 30-day experience will remove herRead More fear of firearms and help her recognize that the vast majority of American firearms owners have taken to their responsibility with the necessary seriousness and gravity required. Maybe she’ll also learn that no matter how many laws you pass, you can’t regulate irresponsibility out of existence. Grown-ups still have to be grown-ups. Maybe she will also learn how the Bill of Rights is supposed to work, and how one amendment strengthens another. At a minimum, people like Heidi Yewman should be passingly familiar with the Constitutional rights they’re agitating to take away from their fellow citizens."

never forget Newtown...!! (RNS) Each Father’s Day, Neil Heslin and his son, Jesse Lewis, usedRead More to go to a car show. But that tradition died when 6-year-old Jesse was shot and killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. This Father’s Day, Heslin, who has been active with other Sandy Hook parents in pushing for gun control legislation, is giving his support to the No Father’s Day campaign. Speaking at a media teleconference to launch the campaign, Heslin said, “Jesse was my only child, my only immediate family. I don’t have a father to share Father’s Day with.” Initiated by PICO National Network’s Lifelines to Healing Campaign, the campaign asks participants to send e-cards to Congress, urging passage of legislation to create universal background checks and end gun trafficking.

Exploiting dead children for your political points is disgusting and vile. Given the poster thereRead More can be no surprise about such.
Publius Redux June 14, 2013 at 11:17 pm
From linked article_______ "The victims “have a financial uncertainty, they need theRead More money,” Feinberg said. “You have to say, ‘Here’s the money, here’s what we’re doing with it.’” Some Newtown families say that didn't happen in their town. Lafferty-Hassinger posted to Facebook her frustration about the United Way requiring "proof of hardship" to determine how to distribute funds: "We shouldn't have to fight for what is rightfully ours, but we won't be taken advantage of in our darkest hour," she wrote. "We've all been walking a fine line between not wanting to profit from the death of our loved ones and not wanting someone else to profit from our source of grief. We went down when we were kicked, but we are Sandy Hook. It's time to stand back up."___________ I reckon my questions are thusly: What financial uncertainty is there in the death of a child, AND since when did money that is donated privately become something that is 'rightfully' belonging to someone else due to a tragedy that is not a natural event like a tornado or hurricane?
