Chris Brubeck Performance, A Christmas Carol, Polar Express, Menorah Lighting

Chris Brubeck and the French Connection will perform at Wilton Library on Dec. 4.

  • Opening Nov. 29 at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk: The Polar Express. The animated film, based on the award-winning children’s book and featuring Tom Hanks as the voice of five characters (including Santa Claus), will play from Nov. 29 through Dec. 22 at 4 & 7:30 p.m. Fridays & Saturdays and 4 p.m. Sundays. From Dec. 26-Jan. 1, times are 4 & 7:30 p.m. daily. (Confirm times at www.maritimeaquarium.org.)
  • The Wilton Menorah CelebrationMon., December 2, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. A giant outdoor Menorah Lighting at the Wilton Town Green in Wilton. Event will include live music, hot latkes, Chanukah gelt, dreidels, and is perfect for the whole family.  Free and open to all. Led by Rabbi Levi Stone of the Schneerson Center.     The small bright flames will light up the cold winter night as men, women and children will gather to watch the spectacular menorah lightings. Lively music will fill the air as people will be encouraged to dance together in unison. Dreidels and doughnuts will be given out to the crowd.  The menorah is a symbol of hope and Jewish pride.

Wednesday, Dec. 4, Chris Brubeck brightens up a midweek night when he performs in a special concert for Wilton Library’s Hot & Cool: Jazz at the Brubeck Room from 7:00p.m. to 8:30 p.m.  The concert, Chris Brubeck and the French Connection, brings Chris together with saxophonist Guillaume Saint-James and Didier Ithurssary on accordion. 

A reception follows the concert.  There is a suggested donation of $10 per person. Pre-registrants should arrive by 6:50 p.m. to be guaranteed seating.  Waitlisted and walk-ins will be admitted after 6:50 if seats are available.
