WLA - Breast Cancer Survivors' Support Group. Tuesday January 14, 20146:00 PM to 8:00 PMStory RoomJoin our monthly support group for post-treatment cancer survivors. The Breast Cancer Survival Center, a Fairfield county non-profit, has been holding support groups, retreats and candle lightings for the past 12 years. The BCSC has found that once treatment ends (surgery, radiation and/or chemo) and the visits to doctors are less frequent, the survivor often feels very vulnerable and may still have the need for support, understanding and validation beyond what family and friends can give. The goal is to integrate the experience of going through this frightening disease and to move on. There is an unspoken understanding when you are with people who have shared a common experience: the feeling that you are not alone is powerful and healing.
