Madera Winds Quintet, Knit/Crochet Workshop, Coat Drive

Madera Winds Quintet to perform at Wilton Library. The Madera Winds, formed in 2012, is a blend of Connecticut musicians who have performed over the last thirty years in other chamber music groups in Wilton as well as throughout Fairfield County.

The Madera Winds will perform the woodwind quintet of Carl Nielsen.  This quintet is considered by many to be the finest piece of music written for this combination of instruments.  They will also perform Aires Tropicales by Paquito D’Rivera, Cuban jazz clarinetist and composer.

Registration strongly suggested. Pre-registrants should arrive by 3:50 to be guaranteed seating; wait-listed and walk-in registrants will be admitted after 3:50 if space is available.

The Wilton Y coat drive runs through Sunday, Jan. 12 Maybe the bar in your coat closet won't sag if you cull a few coats you don't wear often and give them to the coat drive. All donations will go to benefit the Salvation Army and the AIDS project in Greater Danbury.
