Dec. 3rd Dickens' Great-Great Grandson Performs A Christmas Carol in Wilton

The Clune Center at Wilton High School hosts one-man presentation of A Christmas Carol. Charles Dickens great-great grandson performs. One show only, Monday, Dec. 3rd, 7:30 pm.

On Monday, December 3rd, Gerald Charles Dickens, the great-great-grandson of the great literary master Charles Dickens, will bring his much-applauded version of the holiday classic A Christmas Carol to the Clune Center at Wilton High School.

Charles Dickens himself was known for his energetic, extraordinary one-man readings of his own works in the 1860's.  In similar style, Gerald Charles Dickens developed this one-man version of the much-loved tale in 1993.  He has delighted audiences and toured the world since with his outstanding performance each holiday season. Using his own energetic facial, vocal and physical talents, and at times leaping into the audience, Gerald Dickens plays over 30 characters and truly brings A Christmas Carol to life.

The original Dickens noted that he was inspired to write A Christmas Carol as a much-needed Christmas story with a happy ending  -- one with broader themes and concerns, certainly, but basically about the conversion of one man from miserable selfishness to generosity of spirit at Christmas.  Clearly, everything that Dickens wrote about in A Christmas Carol continues to resonate with audiences today.
