Ladies Night Out at Wilton Historical Society's New Betts Store

Join your friends for wine, hors d'oeuvres and shopping at the Betts Store, a boutique featuring the best of American-made gifts, crafts, fine art and toys.

The Wilton Historical Society is pleased to announce the first "Ladies' Shopping Night", to be held on Friday, November 30 from 6 pm - 8 pm

Doorbells and sleighbells and warm woolen mittens -- these are a few of our favorite things.  Women are invited to survey the goods of the newly-opened historical Betts Store with a sip of wine and a nibble of cheese.

"Ladies Shopping Night" will be the perfect antidote to a long day of work, errands or parenting.  Treat yourself to a step back in time, when shopping was leisurely, the Wilton community gathered to chat and share, and gifts were carefully crafted by loving hands.

The original Betts Store served Wilton for over a hundred years at the intersection of Route 7 and Route 33.  Original Betts Store inventory ledgers list such items as silk and velvet, pottery and home goods, sugar and flour.

Today's Betts Store offers an array of books and unusual hand-crafted gifts, including fine art, hand-made letter press stationary, jewelry, and adorable toys.  Other items, including collectible redware and porcelain pottery, woodwork, fiber arts, and hand-forged iron ware also grace the shelves.  Many of these items have been chosen to reflect the Historical Society's permanent collections.

All proceeds will benefit the Wilton Historical Society's educational programs.
