Wilton Great Trains Exhibit Opens Sat. Dec. 1

The Wilton Historical Society is pleased to bring back the Great Trains Holiday Exhibit, a proven Wilton favorite for 14 years, on December 1st.

Bells and lights, buttons and whistles. The call of train song, far away, long and low. Tiny trains chug-chugging over bridges, through tunnels, amid miniature villages of skaters and carousels.

Here is kinesthetic learning at its best, where the young (and the young at heart) can fiddle with Ferris Wheel and Merry-go-Round, spin a waterwheel and windmill, tinker with handcars and push Thomas the Tank Engine along endless tracks. The exhibit will feature model railroad trains from nostalgic years gone by, as well as modern components.

The Great Trains Holiday Exhibit will also offer visitors an opportunity to explore the history of railroads as well as local history. Model train experts will be pleased to find ten extensive model train sets in five different gauges -- Z, N, HO, O and G (smallest to largest). The HO gauge "Bob King Exhibit" depicts Wilton in the early 1900's, and is large enough for its own separate room. All ages will enjoy finding local historical landmarks, such as the Wilton Congregational Church, the Old Town Hall, and the original Wilton Train Station.

For more information, please call the Wilton Historical Society at 203.255.2567.  Or better yet, come on down. Bring the kids and the grandkids. Who knows -- maybe you will hear a sleighbell ring.

The Wilton Historical Society is grateful to First Niagara Bank Foundation for their generous support of the Great Trains Holiday Exhibit.

@DB Cooper: Oh, you mean how you used your multiple personalities and screen names to flag me intoRead More oblivion? The thing is, it won't work this time. Try again, stalker. Try harder. LOL! You don't have enough fake personalities this time around to do such a thing. Thanks again for stopping by my blog. :) LOL! Hook, line, sinker.
