Driscoll School is a public educational institution that serves Kindergarten through second grade students, in concert with Miller School. It is named for Ina E. Driscoll, a Wilton teacher and principal from 1926 to 1957 who originally founded and ran the Gilbert and Bennett School in Georgetown (a subsect of Wilton and a few neighboring towns) and became a beloved member of the community before her passing in 1978.

Miller School is a fully integrated public school serving Kindergarten through second grade students. It is located at 217 Wolfpit Road, adjoining the Driscoll School, and was named for Tilford W. Miller, a former Wilton educator who moved to the town from New York in 1925 and served as Town Treasurer and Chariman of the Board of Education. There are roughly 1000 students between Miller and Driscoll and the facility also include a pre-school for special needs children.

Schenck's Island derives its name from the fact that it is isolated by the Norwalk River that partially surrounds it and the railroad tracks along its eastern side that prevent access to it.
