The Apple Blossom School & Family Center is a Wilton educational institution that follows the Waldorf educational philosophy founded by Rudolf Steiner in 1919.

Waldorf education, which gets its name from the first Waldorf school (founded in 1919 to serve the children of employees at the Waldorf-Astoria cigarette factory in Stuttgart, Germany), is interdisciplinary, integrating artistic, conceptual and practical elements. The Waldorf approach emphasizes a balance between the analytic and creative components of the imagination and is partially based on the premise that each child has a unique destiny. The ultimate goal of this educational philosophy is to provide children with the basic skills they will need to fulfill that destiny, and thus become independent, moral and integrated individuals.

As a Waldorf school, Apple Blossom nurtures the imagination through play, artistic activities and language development with song, puppetry and storytelling. The school offers parent/infant, parent/toddler, nursery and kindergarten programs for children 8 weeks to 6 years of age.
