<p>The Wilton Fire Department is headquartered at the Town Hall Municipal Campus. It serves 26.8 square miles of town and 18,000 residents.</p> <p>All told, the department has 30 personnel with 16 line firefighters, four Captains, four Lieutenants, two in the Fire Marshal’s Office, a Fire Chief and a Deputy Fire Chief, an Apparatus Maintenance Supervisor, and an administrative secretary between the main station and Station 2, also known as Marhoffer Station. The stations provide 24-hour fire, rescue and emergency medical services and hazardous material mitigation.</p> <p>The station has three fire pumpers, one ladder truck and one pumper/tanker—all have medical equipment on board. The department also owns a utility pickup truck, a HazMat vehicle, a small amphibious all-terrain vehicle and five staff and support vehicles.</p> <p>Chief Paul Milositz presides over the department. David Kohn is Wilton's fire marshal and Rocco Grosso is the fire inspector.</p> <p>In 2008, the station responded to 1,624 calls. Those included 497 fire and alarm calls, 786 EMT calls and 341 other calls.</p>
