Its open fields distinguish it from most other Wilton parks, lush with tall grasses that are home to unique bird and insect species. The park also features a small stream that connects to Mayapple Brook and a man-made pond built in 1963 when the Belknap Family dammed one of the streams.</p> <p>While on the trails, hikers may pass over a series of stonewalls that are the most striking and obvious evidence of the park's old farm properties.</p>
