The Wilton Board of Education is comprised of six volunteers from the Wilton community who are elected to their positions for four year terms.  Every two years three of the six positions are up for re-election.  A member can be on the board for a total of two consecutive terms.

The Wilton Board of Education derives its power and authority from the State Constitution and the statutes of the State of Connecticut.  Accordingly, the Wilton Board of Education acts as an agent of the state government with all the authority and limitations imposed by the General Assembly and the state constitution.
