I am a parent of two adult children. Both graduated from terrific  colleges. One played major college sports. Both are doing very well today, but it wasn't easy nor automatic. A daily effort resulted in a long, winding path that landed them where they are today, with success and happiness in their endeavors.

I encouraged my kids while in high school to have a vision for their future, and asked them to commit to an outcome. I taught them to take ownership of their life before circumstances owned them. I do the same with my audience, either as a speaker to dozens or in a close family consulting capacity. I know this strikes at the core of college success, and is predicable as anything. I guarantee it.

That's why I started this business about 10 years ago. I watched my own children, and many others,  ponder the next step: “Where will be my best college opportunity? How will I do when I get there? How will I know?"

I quickly understood the game changed  after high school — and the stakes went up. Way up.
