Wilton Historical Society
Our mission is to help our community: Discover the past, Enlighten the present, Enrich the future, Enjoy our heritage
Founded in 1938, we are dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of our community. Over the years we have built a valuable public resource and continue to carry out our mission goals through a dedicated staff, a core group of volunteers and the ongoing financial support of the community. Did you know . . . We have restored 17 historic buildings at Lambert Corners, Cannon Corners and at the Heritage Museum complex on Danbury Road. We maintain a fine museum and an extensive collection of 19th century trade and craft tools, historic artifacts, books, documents and memorabilia. We present exciting exhibits that appeal to visitors from throughout New England and offer significantly expanded educational programs for both children and adults. We have lots of fun! Our programs not only educate but entertain, our social events have a historical twist and it’s a great place to volunteer.
