Cablevision and Scripps Should Come to a Fast Agreement

Wilton Representatives to the Area Nine Cable Council urge Cablevision and Scripps to resolve their differences as they are negatively impacting many viewers.

To the Editor:

The Area Nine Cable Council (ANCC) has received a number of complaints regarding the current dispute between Cablevision and the Scripps Network over carrying the HGTV and the Food Network, which were dropped from Cablevision's channel lineup when the contract between Scripps and Cablevision expired on January 1, 2010.

ANCC urges the parties to come to a quick resolution to get the channels back on Cablevision. Although it is not appropriate for the cable council to take sides in a financial dispute between these companies, the ANCC regrets that the many subscribers who wish to view these channels have become the victims of this disagreement.
